NEWS RELEASE
RENOWNED ARTIST DONATES ART TO SUPPORT LOCAL
SUE RYDER CARE - NETTLEBED HOSPICE
Renowned artist, Fred Beckett, has kindly offered to donate the proceeds of the sale of an original piece of his work to Sue Ryder Care's hospice in Nettlebed near Henley-on-Thames in support of the charity's Art Liberating Lives campaign. The stunning landscape painting, entitled 'Sunset, Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk' will be on exhibit at the Whittington Fine Art Gallery in Hart Street, Henley-on-Thames from 7 - 24 December. A collectable item, the painting is on sale for £3,750 which will raise vital funds that will go directly to help Sue Ryder Care - Nettlebed continue to deliver expert and compassionate care to people living with far advanced, life limiting conditions including Cancer.
Based in Buckinghamshire, Fred Beckett has exhibited his work in prestigious galleries across the country and won a host of accolades. Fred said, "I'm delighted to be able to support Sue Ryder Care - Nettlebed in this way. The Hospice has a huge need for
financial support and offers care to those in need throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire. And being within close proximity of Whittington Fine Art, Barry has been only too happy to offer his support."
Fred has also submitted a piece of his artwork to support Sue Ryder Care's National Art Liberating Lives campaign - which is designed to reflect the importance of art as therapy in Sue Ryder Care's six hospices, including Sue Ryder Care - Nettlebed, and eight neurological care centres. His work is one of hundreds of pieces of art created by professional, amateur, celebrity and young artists from across the UK that will be on exhibit at the charity's annual Art Liberating Lives exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London from 11 - 18 December. Proceeds from the sale of the artworks will go directly to help Sue Ryder Care.
Ruth Peters, National Events Manager at Sue Ryder Care, said, "At Sue Ryder Care art really does liberate lives for people living with complex neurological conditions as well as life limiting conditions such as Cancer. Within our Art Liberating Lives exhibition people will see firsthand the triumphant and spectacular results of our active art programme running in 14 care centres across the country, including Sue Ryder Care - Nettlebed. Art has proved to be a great way for people to express themselves and explore thoughts and feelings they may otherwise find difficult because of the condition they are living with."
