ROGER DELLAR PS. R.I Roger Dellar is a self-taught professional artist who works in pastels, mixed media, acrylics and oils. His interest in observing people in their environments has influenced him to record and interpret them, capturing light effects. Many of his paintings are painted on the spot, or from sketches, later in the studio. He is a great sketchbook enthusiast. EXHIBITIONS. Roger is a figurative painter, and has had several one-man exhibitions, at the Turnpike Gallery, Petersfield and Nutcombe Hill Studio at Hindhead, Surrey. Represented by Whittington Fine Art, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, and Hicks Gallery, Wimbledon, also numerous group exhibitions throughout the U.K. MAJOR EXHIBITIONS: The Royal Watercolour Society, at the Bankside Gallery. The Pastel Society. The Royal Society of Marine Artists. The New English Art Club. The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. The Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He regularly demonstrates to Art Societies working in all mediums. Holds a City & Guilds Teaching Certificate. Teaches painting courses at Nutcombe Hill Studio in Hindhead, Surrey. He runs courses at The Old Rectory, Fittleworth, West Sussex. Dedham Hall, Dedham, Essex, and The Earnley Concourse, Chichester, West Sussex. In the past he has run courses at Phillips House, Dinton, Salisbury, and West Dean College, West Dean, Chichester. He has tutored painting holidays in Italy and France, and runs annual painting courses in Crete. Tutoring Workshops in Delaware, U.S.A. ART SOCIETIES. In 1996 elected a member of The Wapping Group of Artists. In 1997 elected a member of The Chelsea Art Society. In 2000 elected a member of The Langham Sketching Club. In 2001 elected a member of The R.I. (The Royal Institute of painters in Watercolour) President of Bramshott and Liphook Art and Craft Society. In 2003 elected a member of The Pastel Society. In 1997 he was Invited Artist in Residence for The Petersfield Music Festival. In 1996-1998 he was Artist in Residence at Petworth House. In 1999 R.O.I prize winner, Non-member painter award.
